The 1945 NFA Season was the seventh NFA regular season. A year after appearing in the American Bowl, the Milwaukee Indians and Chicago Packers combined franchise separated to operate independently again. The Pittsburgh Ironmen also resumed operations and rejoined the NFA East Division. With a mostly young core of players, they would finish 2-10 in last place. The defending NFA Champions, the Boston Bluejackets, would pick up where they left off from the 1944 NFA Season. They would win the NFA East for the second straight season. On November 11th, they would defeat the Baltimore Knights to win the division. Detroit and Cincinnati were in a tight race to win the NFA West. It wouldn't be until the last week of the season on December 2nd for the Mustangs to win the NFA West.
