The Bluejackets defeated Chicago-Milwaukee 33-10 to give the "Brownies" their first loss of the season.
GAME SUMMARY
The Boston Bluejackets would completely dominate this game from beginning to end. The first points of the game would be awarded to Boston after Milwaukee's Charles Hall fumbled the ball which would result in a safety. Boston's offense, defense and special teams would all have a near perfect game. This would be the first American Bowl where a team would block a punt and a field goal. Milwaukee's rushing attack which had given headaches to defenses all season, was quickly contained by Boston's front 4 linemen. Boston's center Tim Franklin would rack up 2 sacks and 3 tackles for a loss or no gain. Since their rushing attack was not productive, Milwaukee was forced to have Charles Hall and back up halfback Eddie Miller throw the ball 24 times, the most passing attempts for Milwaukee's offense all season. The Boston defense was able to contain their passing attack also however. Boston would intercept 2 passes from Miller and prevent Miller and Hall from scoring any touchdowns. Milwaukee's only points would come in the third quarter when they were trailing 30-0. After a Charles Hall 21 yard touchdown rush, Milwaukee would convert a 2 point conversion to avoid a shut out. For the first time in Boston's franchise history, the Bluejackets were American Bowl champions. The Presidents Trophy would be handed over to Boston's owner Jim Cook. Fred Finley would be named MVP for his 4 rushing touchdown performance.
