The eleventh NFA Championship Game was held at St Louis Stadium in St Louis, MO. It would feature the two best teams in the league, the 12-0 St Louis Aviators and the 11-1 New York Lions. This would be the Lions second consecutive Championship Game appearance after easily winning the NFA East for the second straight season. The Aviators would return to the Championship for the first time since 1940. This would be the first time that the Aviators would host the game. On Week 12, two weeks prior to the NFA Championship, the Lions and the Aviators met in St Louis. The Aviators would defeat the Lions 27-14 to secure home field advantage for the Championship Game. This was the first time in NFA history that the Championship Game participants had played each other on the final game of the season and then in the championship. Even though St Louis had won the first game, many favored the Lions to win their fourth championship.
